In San Diego, we are lucky to have some of the very best weather in the world. Perfect for outdoor activities such as golfing and mini-golf (also known as put-put) It’s not always easy though to find the time to make it to those private or public courses, and some of our clients have requested the ability to practice their golf putting at home! It’s also a fun activity for the whole family, including kids.
Here are some quick tips that could be helpful to you if you’re thinking about making your own putting green in your backyard:
- Remember to use artificial grass (turf) as real grass is very hard to keep up in San Diego with our droughts and climate
- Design the softscape and hardscape so that the mini golf course does not interrupt walkways and common pathways
- Different types of turf can be installed to simulate the “rough” vs the “green”
- Be sure to have your landscape designer/project manager (like our team members at Designs 4 You Remodeling) arrange a 3D design model of your property before implementation
